Financing calculator: what the weekly payment actually adds up to

Four clinics in our index advertise payment cadences instead of prices. This calculator does the missing half of their arithmetic: enter the advertised payment, how often it recurs, and the term — it returns the total you would pay, with interest if you know the rate. Compare the result against the only published prices in the index: case figures from $4,000 to $18,000.

“$259 a month”$6,216$9,324$12,432

Simple sums of the advertised cadence over each term, before any interest — the clinics publish no totals or terms, which is exactly the problem. Cadences from clinic sites, checked August 2026.

How to read your result

Set the result against the published anchors: $4,000–18,000 per case. If a financed total lands far above the case range, you are paying for the financing as much as the surgery. Then ask the clinic for the three numbers in writing — total, term, cost of credit — and for the quote itself as rate × evaluated graft count. This calculator is arithmetic, not financial advice; it exists so the conversation starts from a real number.

Common questions

Why do clinics advertise weekly payments instead of prices?

A small recurring number reads as affordable; a five-figure total does not. In our ten-city index, 4 of 22 clinics advertise a payment cadence — “$50 a week”, “$95 bi-weekly”, “from $259/month” — while publishing no total. The cadence is marketing arithmetic with the important half missing: without a term and a rate, it is not a price.

What three numbers turn a cadence into a price?

The total in writing, the term in months, and the total cost of credit (all interest and fees). Ask for all three before comparing anything. “0% for the first 12 months” makes the rate after month 12 the question that matters.

Is financing a hair transplant a bad idea?

That is a personal financial decision we do not advise on — this calculator only shows what a cadence adds up to, so the decision is made on real numbers. One structural note from our data: where both FUE and FUT are offered, FUT typically carries the lower per-graft rate, so the technique conversation belongs before the financing conversation.
